Sunday

Sea Sunday
The guest preacher at
our 10.00am Parish Communion will be the Rev'd Tom
Heffer.
It's
all too easy to forget the seafarers who bring us so much. We
rely on them for our food, our petrol and our cars. In fact,
in the UK, seafarers are responsible for bringing us over 90%
of our daily needs. The Mission to Seafarers reaches out to the
1.2 million seafarers who man the world's merchant fleets with
a message of love and hope in a harsh and often inhospitable
environment. In over 230 ports worldwide, Mission chaplains and
staff visit seafarers on their ships. The Mission operates seafarers'
centres in over 100 ports, where crew members can use its telephones
and computers to keep in touch with their loved ones thousands
of miles away. They also celebrate communion and enjoy fellowship
in its chapels, and are able to replenish essential items from
its shops. In every one of the Mission's ports, Bibles are handed
out in different languages to aid seafarers in their daily walk
with God.
On Sea Sunday, please pray for the Mission to Seafarers.
For more information see Missions
page.

music, as well as a few amusing items performed by Jill Saunders
and Marion Tomkins.
It will begin at 7.30pm in the Church Rooms. Tea or coffee and

also be a raffle.
