We are celebrating our new Eco Church Bronze Award from A Rocha UK !

Our journey so far has been an exciting one, bringing together the contributions of many of our congregation  -our Eco-warriors! to ‘go green’ in all areas of our church life. In meeting together we’ve recognised how much we can and have already achieved when all the actions we are taking join up . We’ve joined the Eco Church – a learning community of churches spread far and wide and of all shapes and sizes which is supporting us and our leadership to take practical action on caring for God’s Earth.

Our team work so far has achieved the Bronze Eco Church Award, which is very exciting and we are aiming to continue and expand our progress going forward and potentially achieve further awards,  there are Silver and Gold levels to attain as we further expand St Nicolas at the heart of  the sustainability our community in Cranleigh and reach out Globally.

The Eco Church resources and survey have helped us by providing a framework of five pillars to measure our achievements in caring for God’s world as follows :

Worship and Teaching

Management of our Church Buildings

Management of our Church Land

Community and Global Engagement

Lifestyle

Within each part of the survey we’ve completed are questions to show how we are managing our responsibility in these areas to sustainability.

By joining the Eco Church community we also benefit from resources and an on line prayer forum and programme of events, which we will share with you .

We can all make a difference and many of you already do , so a huge thank you !
